Birthday Bash Blogfest…and Sendai Prize Announcement!

Happy birthday to my blog! To celebrate the Fighter Writer's 1st blogoversary, I'm throwing a Birthday Bash Blogfest to celebrate, and I'm giving away prizes to spread the love!

The original post with a list of participants can be found HERE. The challenge: write a drabble (a piece of flash fiction in 100 words–no more, no less!) that begins with the phrase:

"A lot can happen in a year…"

I will pick my favourite entries and put them up to the public vote. Winner gets prizes and admiration from all!

My drabble is not so much a story but a reflection of the past year:

A lot can happen in a year.

I decided to pursue writing seriously.

I quit my stable job as a schoolteacher.

I became a full-time martial arts instructor, which pays less but gives me more time to write.

I attended two writers' conferences and networked with some wonderful fellow writers.

I got to know some super agents I hope I can query when the time comes.

I started my own website and blog.

I've nearly completed Oracle.

I got married.

And, best of all…

I made some awesome writerly friends to join me on this long journey towards publication!
