Six Sentence Sunday
This is a weekly feature whereby participants post six (6) sentences of their work, published or otherwise, to be read (and possibly critiqued) by everyone else.
For a list of this week's participants, click here.
Having missed last week due to being completely swamped with work, writing and wedding planning, I was determined not to miss this week, especially since I'll be away for the next two weeks for my wedding and honeymoon!
Until I return, I leave you with the opening six sentences of Tommy's Legacy, my contribution in the Stories for Sendai charity anthology:
Tommy's glassy eyes stared out at us through a tangle of tubes and wires.
"Please," he begged, his voice weak and muffled behind the plastic oxygen mask, "I'm not asking for much." His speech was slow, groggy, his face contorting as he spoke, as if every word required supreme physical and mental effort to utter.
Not asking for much? You're asking a lot! I shook my head, partly in objection, partly to try and joggle the tears back into their overflowing ducts.

Sad six. I could feel both of their pain.
On a happier note – good luck over the next few weeks and enjoy!

It all depends on what he's asking… which takes us right into the story.

Heartbreaking. Whatever he's asking must be difficult. Great opening that makes me want more.

I'll have to buy it eventually… but getting the printed version will take ages and I don't have Kindle yet. But I'll get one soon, so I'll be able to read it all!
Have a great honeymoon!
